cutaneous

/kjuːˈteɪnɪəs/

adjective: cutaneous

  1. relating to or affecting the skin.

cutaneous is the private website of Andreas Körner. It is a collection of theoretical and design work circulating around the topics of layering, carving, and inhabiting porous archtiectural spaces.

Andreas Körner

Andreas Körner is an architectural designer and researcher based in Austria. He is an assistant professor at the Institut für Experimentelle Architektur - Hochbau in Innsbruck, and a lecturer in the Bio-integrated Design programme at the Bartlett in London.

Andreas’ research and design experiments explore the relationship between the built and the natural environment through layering, materials, and environmental simulations. Special interest is given to the impact of weather on surfaces and their textural articulations. The results are highly intricate interfaces that communicate invisible environmental parameters to humans in the built environment.
